A Cvent account audit that ends in a fix list.
We review access, templates, registration, email, payments, integrations, consent, branding and reporting, then give you the problems in the order they need fixing.
What this covers
The handover usually arrives as a login and a sentence. The admin has moved on, the agency has changed, or an internal team has been told the next event is theirs now. The account works, in the sense that events have run out of it, but nobody can say why it is set up the way it is. We audit the account before anyone builds on it. We go through ten areas, test the registration paths the way an attendee would, and report back in plain language. You come away knowing what could leak data or money, what could break the next event, and what is merely untidy. It is the sensible first step before a rebuild, before handing events to a new team, or before moving to managed Cvent services, because it shows both sides what the account actually holds.
- Account access and user roles: who can log in, what each person can do, and any former staff or agency users who still have admin rights
- Event templates and naming: which templates new events are copied from, which are duplicates, and which can be retired
- Registration paths, types and questions, including the logic behind each, tested on desktop and on a phone
- Email templates: sender names, reply-to addresses, logos, links and footers across the whole sequence
- Payment and merchant settings, currency and tax, refund rules and any discount codes still active
- Integrations and sync: when each last ran, whose credentials it uses, which fields it maps and what happens when it errors
- Data fields and consent: custom fields, opt-in wording and duplicate fields that split the same answer in two places
- Website and branding templates compared against the current brand guidelines
- Reports and dashboards: scheduled reports going to people who have left, and reports built on retired fields
- Documentation and ownership gaps, with the audit itself becoming the first version of your account notes
What you get
A fix list in priority order
Findings sorted into what could leak data or money, what could break the next event, and what is untidy but harmless for now.
A baseline that works
We register a test person through every path before changing anything, so you know what working looked like and can tell when something breaks.
Documentation that did not exist
The audit becomes the first written record of how your account is set up, so the next handover does not start from a login and a sentence.
Questions, answered
What is a Cvent account audit?
A structured review of how a Cvent account is actually set up: who has access, which templates events are copied from, how registration paths, emails, payments, integrations and consent are configured, and what documentation exists. The output is a findings list ranked by risk, not a pile of observations.
What does the audit report look like?
A written report in plain language. Each of the ten areas gets what we found, what could go wrong because of it and what we would do about it. The findings are then grouped into three lists: what could leak data or money, what could break the next event, and what is untidy but harmless for now.
Why not just fix things as they break?
Because the expensive failures are silent. A sync authenticated with a departed admin's credentials, scheduled reports going to people who have left, a discount code that keeps circulating: none of them announce themselves. An audit finds them before an attendee or your sales team does.
When should we audit our account?
Before you build on an account you did not set up. That means after an admin leaves, when you switch agencies, or when an internal team takes over events someone else ran. It also makes sense before a large event, when a hidden problem costs the most.
Will you change anything during the audit?
We test and observe before we change anything. Once you have the findings, we agree with you which fixes to make and in what order.
What access do you need?
Access to your Cvent account. Give us our own login with the role needed rather than sharing one, since shared logins are one of the things the audit looks for. We will also need someone on your side who can confirm the merchant account and the consent wording.
Can you fix what you find?
Yes. Fixes can be scoped as a clean-up project, or folded into ongoing managed Cvent services if you want the account looked after afterwards. Scope and price are agreed before work starts.
How long does an audit take?
It depends on how many events, templates and integrations the account holds. Tell us roughly how big the account is and when your next event opens, and we will tell you what is realistic on the first call.
Is there a quick way to check before booking an audit?
Yes. Our free Cvent Program Health Scorecard is a two-minute self-assessment across registration, engagement, integrations, onsite, reporting and team capacity, with prioritized fixes. It is a starting point, not a substitute for looking inside the account.
We run Stova, Whova or Swoogo. Can you audit those?
Cvent is where we are deepest. We also work on Stova, Whova and Swoogo, so tell us which platform you run on the first call and we will say honestly whether we are the right people.
Can an agency commission an audit of a client account?
Yes. We work white-label if you want us to, inside the client's account and under your name.
